The Brooklyn Community Bail Fund fights to dismantle the systems that criminalize race, poverty and immigration status, fuel the carceral state, and prop up white supremacy. With freedom as our guiding principle, we are committed to abolishing state-sanctioned systems of oppression that disproportionately target Black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) communities and other marginalized groups, including paying bond to free immigrants detained by ICE.
These oppressive systems can be abolished. Now is the time to push for the future we want to see—one rooted in true community investment, care, and equity.

BCBF operates an immigration bond fund to secure the freedom of community members caged by ICE. Since November 2018, we have paid more than $5 million in immigration bond to free over 600 community members from ICE detention. From 2015-2019, BCBF operated a bail fund that secured the pretrial freedom of nearly 5,000 New Yorkers charged with criminal misdemeanors. BCBF ceased operating a revolving bail fund on January 1, 2020 and no longer pays bail for criminal charges.
